While interning at KLCC 89.7 FM, Eugene (NPR), Nick edited and produced news stories for local sections of "News at Noon," "Northwest Passage," "All Things Considered," and "Morning Edition." He generated story ideas, scanned local and Oregon state newspapers for emerging issues, rewrote NorthWest News Network (N3) and A.P. wire stories for broadcast, team-edited audio features with the news director, planned and executed local and national election coverage and formatted audio features for KLCC.org. Naturally, broadcasting deadlines were very tight and required a mastering of audio editing software such as Cool Edit Pro.
Nick has edited pieces for Bad Acid, an influential force in underground music. As a guest editor he has helped writers flesh out stories, formated copy and line-edited submissions. He has also contributed features, interviews, reviews and his own music to the publication.
During his stay in Eugene, Oregon, Nick was the Editor for Submissions for InterNationality: A Journal of Critical Global Studies, a nascent academic journal associated by the Political Science department of the University of Oregon. He generated an in-house style guide, editor guidelines and fact-checking sheets for the publication. He also edited submissions and created a flow chart for future editing teams.
Nick has copy edited, formatted and line-edited the New England Bartending Schools Training Manual and the Orlando Bartending School Training Manual which are used in classrooms along the East Coast. The Boston school is the city's oldest licensed bartending school.
